What is radiofrequency microneedling?

Radiofrequency microneedling is often called RF microneedling or fractional radiofrequency microneedling. is a treatment that combines two technologies together that of radiofrequency and microneedling.

Radiofrequency uses energy from radio waves to heat up the skin which help to tighten collagen fibres and eventually help production of new collagen. which helps to give a lifted, tightened effect to the skin.

Microneedles create tiny channels in the skin. The microneedles create tiny wounds in your skin which they as your body heals these will improve fine lines, wrinkles, scarring pigmentation they also leave tiny micro channels in the skin which can be used to help targeted serums reach the right layer of your skin making them more effective.

Used in combination really does help to pack a punch, giving skin an all over rejuvenated feel, looks smoother, firmer tighter, more even in tone and texture.

Does RF microneedling hurt?

Radiofrequency microneedling can sometimes feel a little uncomfortable. It can feel like a warm sensation on your skin, you may feel some mild stinging or tingling during the procedure, but this will go away once you heal up. It also can be helped with the use of numbing cream prior to the procedure. Numbing cream is applied prior to treatment at Essence Cumbria to help with comfort during your treatment.

What can RF microneedling treat?

Radiofrequency microneedling will treat everything from acne to stretch marks and wrinkles to scars. It is good for sagging skin as it can help to give a ore firmer skin. It's especially good for treating acne scars because it helps boost collagen production and even out skin tone while reducing inflammation.

Are there any side effects from RF microneedling?

There are little side effects from radiofrequency microneedling, it can leave skin a little pink or red afterwards, this will usually subside in a few hours but in some cases can take up to 48 hours. Here at Essence Cumbria after the treatment is completed a soothing mask and cooling treatment is applied to help alleviate redness and irritation.

There are some things you should keep in mind before getting this treatment done:

-Make sure you have realistic expectations about what this treatment can do for you—it won't be a cure-all for everything!

-Don't get it done if you're pregnant or breastfeeding; if you're taking any medications that could interact with RF energy (like blood thinners); or if you have a pace maker fitted.

You may have seen RF microneedling has become especially popular with celebrities and is often a firm favourite before red carpet events. Possibly one of the most well known photos is that of Judy Murray following her morpheus8 RF microneedling treatment. She had a course of treatment over 18 month and it is fair to say her results have been astounding.
